DAC (Direct Attach Cable) is a copper cable that transmits electrical signals directly. It's suitable for short-distance (usually up to 5-7 meters) data center connections, with low cost and power consumption. AOC (Active Optical Cable) uses fiber optics to transmit optical signals. It supports longer distances (up to 100+ meters), is immune to electromagnetic interference, lighter weight, but at a higher cost.
DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring), also known as DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring), is a digital diagnostic monitoring feature. Optical transceivers with DOM support can real-time monitor operating parameters including: transmit power, receive power, temperature, operating voltage, bias current, and more. This facilitates fault diagnosis and operational management. Most of our products support DOM functionality.
